Top Five - Video Game Lessons Edition

A silly one: the top five lessons I've learned from video games!

5. Heal Death at the Local Inn -

Okay, it's a little exaggerated, but there is some truth to this. The more stress you have the weaker your immune system becomes. Sometimes, rest is the best medicine. And you thought staying at the inn was just to boost the in-game economy!

4. "Do a Barrel Roll!" -

I live life with no fear, and I blame that on my two life mottoes:

1. What Would Xena Do?

...and...

2. When in doubt, do a barrel roll.

I hear those are also Chuck Norris' life mottoes...

3. "Our Pricess is in Another Castle!" -

Ah yes, the princess is always in another castle. In other words: if it looks simple, it's probably not. Nothing is ever as easy as it looks or as straight forward as you would hope. Unfortunately, you'll sometimes have to take an epic quest to rescue your metaphorical princess, even if you thought you'd be done in an hour or two.

2. "Up, Left, Right, Down, Hey, Hey, Chu!" to Save the Universe -

You might think that there's only one way to do things in order to make the world a better place, but that's not true. For every Mario there's an Ulala, and for every person doing great things to change the world, there are also those who do smaller, but just as important things.

1. "But There's no Sense Crying Over Every Mistake..." -

"...you just keep on trying 'til you run out of cake, and the science gets done and you make a neat gun for the people who are still alive!"

The greatest lesson I learned from video games is this one: there's no point in crying or having regrets. You just keep on going until you solve the problem or "pass the level."
