I hope you've had a good week. Care for a back rub? If so, sorry but that's kind of creepy. Even though I have been known to give strangers massages and I am good at it. At least, I think I am since there's some reputation floating around that I am. *ahem*
In the age and the common ridicule of online dating, I want to ask a question: How many times have to flirted online? Something as simple as a ; ) or one too many lol's, a screen name or friend request later, and you have a genuine stalker. I call bullshit if I'm the only one.
You know you wanna jump with me... ^_~
So what's the difference between harmless flirting online and offline? Is there such a thing?
IMO (in my opinion), online relationships are like long-distance relationships. They're not for everyone, are friggin' tough, and have an even lower chance of working out than a typical relationship. I've had my share of both and a combo of both and I would not wish it on anyone, but I know I can do it. It gives me that much more admiration for those that survive with the minimal scars in military relationships.
Have you had your share of hooked up-heartbreak or been the digital dumper? As a gal, I looove getting free stuff thrown at me because I play a girl toon, never mind when gamers find out that I'm an actual chick and not just a GIRL (guy in real life). I have also had my share of creepers and I've been a creeper for the hell of it. Many people feel that it's harmless because we never see each other face to face, but then you can go read the articles about when it turns crazy in reality. Then, we also have the issue of cyberbullying. Phew. It's a lot to think about when all you want to do is stare at some grainy gluteus maximus.
I really reminds me of Season 1 Episode 1 & 2 of The Guild. Amazing web series and I don't want to spoil it so here's the first episode. :P
To take Kharlo's word, "amazeballs" right? Well, I think so and I can't wait for the next season to be filmed and posted. One of the extremes of online flirting. XD
Mmk, now getting to Kharlo's posts this week! Starting off with his Top Five Dreamcast Games.
Sega Dreamcast was released nearly 12 years ago. WTH, where has the time gone? Did the newer CEO really not think that they could keep up with Playstation, Nintendo, and Xbox? They were the first to incorporated support for playing online and what, they threw up their hands and said, "That's it! That's all we got. Might as well give up now." I wished that they had at least tried, it was only two years old, when they pulled the plug on the product. Well, I hope that he regrets that decision hardcore with how the industry has boomed and steadily grown in the past decade.
I have to attest to the fact that Kharlo has some musical ability because he and I have done the shamefully awkward dance that is the remake of Samba de Amigo on the Wii. Please excuse me while I virtually flee from him for telling you that. (*Aieee! Don't beat me with your maracas! T_T*)
Next came his Top Five Game Remakes. You. And your roomful of bombs. Suck. Even when I managed to live long enough to create one of these death traps, I end up running out and getting so turned around, I charge right back in and blow myself to smithereens. No one has to kill me, I do it fine all by myself. And I love fuzzy creatures, so when I was introduced to the presumably sailor-mouthed squirrel that is Conkers, I was so guiltily in love. He's just as cute and violent as me! And we both tend to be funnier when we somewhat censor ourselves. :D *snorts* When I saw the image of Resident Evil that he posted, my very first thought was: ZOMG, LAND SHARK! XD Man, I'm a total dork.
Kharlo also addressed the Top Five Games That Deserve to be Remade. I agree that Silent Hill was even creepier than it intended because of the limitations of the hardware at the time and suffice to say I'd probably sleep with the hall light on if they managed to create a solid remake of this without too many horror flick gimmicks. Again, I want to tell Kharlo to give 2D versions of Final Fantasy a chance. XP I am so fearful of a Majora's Mask remake. I loved that game, even if I found the mask kid pretty friggin' creepy, and I don't want to see my memories of it tarnished with some half-assery. Honestly, the only JRPGs that I hear about nowadays that he hasn't mentioned was because they seem to only be... um... how should I put this delicately, a bunch of fantasy-fueled sexcapades. They are every-flippin'-where. What an awful chasm in the industry.
I guess I share many of the same basic feelings with Kharlo's Top Five Wii Games. I've been an Nintendo gal for as long as I've been into video games, but I have to say the Wii was the first one that I hesitated in getting. It was an odd place to be in because I adore cutesy gimmicks. Yes, I am the reason why suck-tastic games like Hamsterz Life 2 exist (Yes, I own it and it sucks and I still play it for some reason). It's my fault and I'm sorry, okay? I just love tiny fuzzy flawed things. D: But I couldn't find a reason to be passionate about the Wii for years and even when I did get one, it's because I went halfsy (Ugh, I can't believe I just used that word) with my significant other. I am astonished that they have managed to keep Donkey Kong alive and interesting after all these years. This reminds me, Kharlo? I have to get you a red necktie because I heart you. Please, don't hurt me. Actually, this might me worth getting punched in the head over. :D I guess I should try Zack & Wiki, I'm now intrigued.
When we start to talk about generations, as in the Top Five Surprises of Our Generation, it makes us sound really old. Even older because it's like our era is ending and a new one is beginning. Where's my walker and my pudding, dammit?! Pooortal. Portal, Portal, Portal. Where do I begin with you after posting your amazing end credits? Oh! That you reminded me of this Canadian movie franchise: Cube, Cube 2: Hypercube, and Cube Zero. Psychological, sci-fi, horror thriller thing. Mmm... yes. I had yet to hear about PLants vs. Zombies until World of Warcraft released their version of it in game. Unfortunately, I was trying to get a stupid singing sunflower pet within in the first few days of its implementation and it was disgustingly bugged. Needless to say, the boyfriend and I worked on it for hours and days until we managed to pull through. Damn thing. I had to see what the ruckus was about and checked out the inspiration. Damn them! Lol. I do pretty much adore Pop Cap and all I have to say is try Insaniquarium, please. I love it and got the second version of it on a CD at home. Too addicting.
We'll just say that Monkey Island got an honorable mention just because it's been around or so long so it didn't meet the criteria of being of "this" generation, mmkay?
Finally, Kharlo's Top Five New Generation games. I have been on the hunt that ensued when he was seeking out a copy of Other M. This man would have dove naked to the bottom of the ocean using a jellyfish as an air sac and hauled a thousand year old chest on his back if that game was in there. The naked part was just for shits and giggles. For goodness' sake, his new (and pretty spiffy) signature is of Samus! I have seen him play Mirror's Edge and it is my Kryptonite. I am the absolute worse is jumping and this game does it in a beautifully deadly way. I don't believe I could make it through a demo or tutorial, but it reminds me of free-running and I find that absolutely fantastic. Go check out some videos of it on YouTube. Oh yes, I went as far as to pull up and link to the search results page for you (I hope it works). You're welcome. I would love to see the Kinect connect (har har, hardy harhar) to VP:TIP. I wouldn't mind taking a few bat swinging whacks at a few Sours, but that may just be my violent streak. I have to say the rest that made the list just tap into all of the right places in our minds that deal with being entertained, challenged, and stimulated with game play and story line. Take that as you will.
Have you seen my new siggie? It's so perfect! I'm in love. Thank you, thank you to Kharlo! <3
Thanks for tuning in again and I'll see you next Friday!
