Festive Friday

There are plenty of things happening nowadays so let's get to it! Cinco de Mayo yesterday and I hope you're recovering well if you were out celebrating last night. However, the day before was Star Wars Day when we could happily run around telling everyone we met: "May the Fourth be with you!" and cheekily grin as the phrase turns around and around in their heads.

As much as I wanted to run around having a light saber fight, I was pretty sure that my workplace would not have appreciated me bribing the students to come to the Dark Side because I had a plate of cookies. Meh, those kids ingest too much sugar anyways. *pouts*

I also wanted to celebrate Cinco de Mayo by playing some Viva Piñata, giving a few Tafflys French-sounding names, give all of my garden piñatas Hispanic names, and then go to town beating those bugs with my shovel!

Alas, other business called but be sure that I'll be running around this weekend wielding my significant other's cell phone with that light saber app in the yard and then coming in to massacre colorful candy-filled critters.

How should I say this? Much love and prayers for those who were affected by the tons of tornadoes, HOOYAH for Navy SEALS, and congratulations to the royal newlyweds!

To get to more themed happenings:

Sony Online Entertainment. What. Have. You. Done?! Or rather, what did you not do to allow for such a terrible security breach? At such depth too? It's on the heels of the enormous Epsilon email breach. That list of major retailers and businesses is horrifying as well. It's times like this that I'm glad I've set up an email for signing-up for random junk.

At least 20th Century Fox tried to celebrate May 4th by announcing that the entire Star Wars movie franchise will be released this September on Blu-ray. Um... didn't they already announce that last September? I'm only a tad confused about that but more amused that fans managed to overload the servers and crash the website that finished its countdown and then tried to automatically redirect as many as it could to foxmovies.com to make such an announcement. Nice try? No, that does not even get a B- for effort.

The Wii is really on its way out isn't it? Those buttheads at Nintendo. I'm still pouting. On May 15th, the console is being repackaged to not include some form of Wii Sports but with its version of Mario Kart and a few toys. At least there are going to be some of our favorites being resold at a lowered price as parts of the Nintendo Selects collection. Thanks for tossing us that bone there.

If you happen to be interested in comic books, I hope that you know that tomorrow, May 7th, is Free Comic Book Day. Call your favorite source asap and find out what they're doing!

Now, to get to the really good stuff: Kharlo's post for this week. I have a suspicion that he only posted once this week to let you take in all the other happenings going on in the world. How generous is he? :P

The Top Five Video Game Villains. It has a nice ring to it, don't you think? I burst out laughing when I saw the Hall of Doom picture. I can't believe that show started in 1973 and that the Legion of Doom's headquarters appeared in 1978. I used to love watching it. Well, not when it originally aired, but I digress. What a list full of crap.

Sorry, I'm all excited to learn how to properly use/ make RageGuy and related memes. Forgive me in my old age for being behind on this trend. Bear with me. Or deal with it. :P

As I read the rest of the list, I just remembered how pissed off I am when confronting bosses. It's something like this:

However, I felt that it was a great compilation because I loved all of them as characters when I wasn't, you know, trying to wipe them off the face of the planet. To be able to make such likeable entities when you're so used to hating bosses is such an internal conundrum. With all the Mario Party 8 that we've been playing around the house lately, I remember why I loathe Bowser and yet I love his douchbaggery when I'm not the victim.

I'm sure that they feel the same way about us though. Actually I'm pretty sure that this is a pretty accurate representation:

Yeah, something like that. Lol. Well, thanks for hanging in there with us and I'll see you next week!
